Bowling is back on the square in Belleville!
After years of work and planning to purchase the Belleville Bowl, Skyler and Ashley Tuxhorn opened Tuxies Ten Pin this fall just in time for the start of their fall bowling leagues. For those of you that remember the Belleville Bowl as the place with the 1980’s scoring system and poor lighting, you aren’t going to believe what the Tuxhorn’s have done with the place.
A brand-new state of the art scoring system with 50 inch flat screens was installed earlier this year, which allows for automated scoring along with 15 unique games styles such as standard 10 pin, 9 pin, odds, evens splits and much more.
The scoring system also integrates with their point-of-sale system, which makes it easy for patrons to order food and drinks while they bowl and tab out at the end of their session. Speaking of food and drinks.
As part of their upgrades the Tuxhorn’s installed a commercial kitchen with a flattop grill and friers to provide an outstanding menu that includes burgers, sandwiches, and a large assortment of sides. In addition to bringing bowling back to the square, they’ve brought lunch back to the square, and offer a fast and delicious lunch option for Belleville’s downtown business community.
They offer a large selection of bottled and canned beers and have installed a soda fountain to provide soft drinks.
One of their favorite services they offer is hosting special events. They are open to host your next birthday party or office party and are happy to put up the bumpers for people new to bowling. Bowling and a movie night have never been more convenient with the Blair Theater right next door. Tuxies also hosts special needs bowling activities during the day, and installed a special wheelchair lift to make this possible.
The Swedish-American State Bank wants to recognize Skylar for his 15 years of service as a submariner and sonar technician in the US Navy, and for the commitment he and Ashley have brought to make this project a reality.
