Hanel Veterinary Clinic has been healing creatures great and small since they were founded by Lannie Hanel in 1977 at 340 US Highway 36 in Courtland Kansas. Lannie’s son Brock returned to Courtland in 2010 after completing his DVM at Kansas State University. With their team of talented vets and herdsmen, Hanel Veterinary Clinic offers a full range of services for creatures large and small.
Brock and Lannie specialize in large animal veterinary services and are available for appointments at the clinic or are happy to bring their services to your farm or ranch. Their hydraulic chute and working pens make it easy to get your cattle in, worked and back to your facility. They have a full animal pharmacy for your antibiotic and drug needs, and stock livestock accessories for any situation. Need something for your pet? They also sell dog food and flea and tick medication to keep your dog or cat healthy and happy.
When Brock was in grade school, he and Lannie started building their Simmental Beef Herd. This business has continued to grow, and they now have a “Female Sale” in the fall, and a “Bull Sale” in the spring where they auction over 300 cattle. This sale attracts hundreds of ranchers from all over the country to Courtland.
Since the early 1990’s, Hanel Black Simmental has been selecting cattle for calving ease, disposition and superior growth with the purebred breeder and commercial cattleman in mind. The superior genetics they have developed in their herd over the last 30 years offer both conformation and performance.
A Big Courtland Salute to Hanel Veterinary Clinic and Hanel Black Simmentals for their 40 plus years of service to our local communities, farmers and ranchers. Welcome Home to the Swedish-American State Bank, equal housing lender, member FDIC.
